bluewater chaplaincy

Every person matters...

help We...
  • offer a pastoral presence at work
  • engage in issues of workplace justice and fair play
  • promote faith based values for caring for people at work
  • encourage a sense of well-being for employees on site
  • develop fairness at work
  • reflect God's presence and involvement in the experience of work.
The Chaplaincy service was started by Malcolm Cooper of Kent WorkplaceMission during the construction of Bluewater in 1996 through the construction.
When Bluewater opened as a shopping centre in 1999 there was a need to expand the team to make the service available to the many retailers and Alistair joined in 2000 along with Paul Winchester. The team has grown with volunteer chaplains from many local communities of faith. Malcolm retired from the service in 2011 and Alistair now leads the team.
